As 2017 comes to a close, it’s so rewarding to reflect on the events we were able to design this year and the amazing brides and venues we worked with. This past year was all about iconic Boston venues; The Lenox Hotel, The Liberty and The State Room to name a few.
The Lenox–First up were Christine and Gregg at The Lenox Hotel. Christine and Gregg are nothing short of elegant. The couple combined their beautiful families under a breathtaking chuppah made by her soon-to-be father in law and decorated with branches and flowers galore. The bride was walked down the candlelit, drenched aisle by her daughter, Ruby (tissues please!) with ruby shoes to match under her Italian custom designed lace gown. Christine trusted the Jen Anderson Designs team and gave creative license to design her intimate affair. The end result was unparalleled with 5-foot oil rubbed bronze candelabras, cascading hydrangea and garden roses in ivory and blush tones. For the cocktail hour, Christine wanted a sexy, lounge-y feel. To get that look, we created a monochromatic, textured feel with Hearts Roses. The Lenox ballroom took care of the rest with it’s towering dome, gilded moldings and warm woods.
The Liberty Hotel–Next up on our iconic Boston weddings venues list was Julie and Matt at the Liberty Hotel. Once and old jailhouse that housed some of Boston’s most notorious criminals, but now a chic city venue that leverages the exposed brick and wrought iron details as a backdrop for our couple’s happy day. Julie and Matt couldn’t have been cuter. Our sweet bride was open to bouquets with contrasting corals and peaches to pop off her pastel slate and mint bridesmaid dresses. The end result was a cheery pallet of color that was only outshined by the couple’s smiles. The Jen Anderson Designs team worked closely with Julie to find the perfect lantern that aligned with the reception room décor. In the end, Julie was able to find these lovely rose gold lanterns with open slats. For the grand finish, my team raised them up on oodles and oodles of flowers.
The State Room–Lastly on our 2017 Boston wedding venue line up was a wedding nothing short of amazing! Kristina and Colin celebrated their big day at The State Room overlooking the Boston skyline. Kristina was our glam bride this year with Old Hollywood style. She had a vision of all white roses, pearls, ivory linens and gilded vases. F. Scott Fitzgerald would have approved! Our team took that vision to the next level and created monstrous low centerpieces about 15 inches across and explosive tall centerpieces of white dendrobium orchids. Kristina and Colin themselves were the final decoration to the evening. Kristina’s perfect blond waves and Colin’s slick style were perfection!
